"These filter cores look and feel like good quality. I've already started using the core included with the filter, but I'm not clear on its lifespan. If the collection being washed consists of new or lightly used records, the core might last longer than if it's a collection that's at least 30 years old and second-hand."

clean them every so often to maximize usage

"I decided to push the limits on one of these and I was able to get over 600 albums cleaned. In order to do this I take the filter out about every 200 albums and clean it under tap water, get the dust and hair off, put it back in and keep using it. These can go a lot longer than expected if you clean them once in a while. I always have a few on back up. I change my water now about every 150ish albums cleaned."
